Sometimes I visit a friend who lives near the beach in Kailua. We spend the morning catching up, then quietly painting together. Hours can go by in silence… until we get rained out. This panoramic oil on panel almost didn’t survive the deluge. I’m glad it did.
Mokolea (Plover Island) aka “Birdshit Island” is an elusive landmark in the middle of the sea that arrives and disappears in the misty tradewinds. I was able to capture it in a single morning session before the weather changed.
